CitizenScape Bristol on BBC Radio - 20 March 2009
Bristol City Council were interviewed about CitizenScape on the BBC Radio Bristol Graham Torrington Radio Show, which is a mid morning talk and music show on BBC Radio Bristol weekday mornings. They look at things that are going on across the south west of England that are of interest to Bristol residents. In this interview he talks to Steve Crawshaw from the Environmental Quality Team at Bristol City Council who is responsible for Noise mapping in Bristol and will coordinate Bristol’s response to the European Noise Directive and the Noise Action Plan for Bristol. And Llyod Dunseith from Bath Spa University. Lloyd was the producer for the short films that were made to raise awareness of environmental noise pollution in Bristol and promote the Citizenscape website. Key points addressed were: The current situation of noise pollution in Bristol – areas affected. The impact of this on residents – annoyance, quality of life, health problems. Bristol City Council’s response – Citizenscape website, how to have your say, nominating you favourite quiet place, uploading videos and photos. What people can do them selves to reduce noise pollution in Bristol. Bath Spa University involvement in the project – producing the short films to promote the Citizenscape site.
